Teen/Adolescent

Discovering Strength and Resilience in the Teen Years

Understanding Teen Struggles

Is your teen showing signs of distress or engaging in risky behaviors? Adolescence can be a tumultuous time, marked by intense emotions, peer pressure, and the challenges of navigating identity and independence. At Healing Paths Counseling, I understand the unique struggles that teens face in today’s complex world. Whether your teen is grappling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues, I’m here to provide compassionate support and guidance while getting at the root of the distress.

My goal is to empower teens to understand and manage their emotions, navigate social and academic pressures, and make healthy decisions. Through personalized therapy sessions, we aim to unlock each teen’s potential for growth, happiness, and success.

Recognizing the Signs

Teenagers often struggle to express their emotions openly, leading to behaviors that may indicate underlying distress. These behaviors can range from withdrawal and mood swings to substance abuse, self-harm, or academic decline. It’s essential for parents and caregivers to recognize these signs and seek help when needed. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing environment where teens feel comfortable exploring their feelings and experiences without fear of judgment.

My Approach

At Healing Paths Counseling, I take a holistic approach to teen therapy, addressing the emotional, social, and developmental needs of each individual. I combine evidence-based techniques with a deep understanding of adolescent psychology to create personalized treatment plans that promote healing and growth.

Therapeutic Techniques

I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities to help teens overcome challenges and develop coping skills for life’s ups and downs. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps teens identify and challenge negative thought patterns, while Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches practical strategies for managing emotions and improving interpersonal relationships. Additionally, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can be effective in processing traumatic experiences and reducing symptoms of PTSD.

What to Expect

During the initial intake process, I will conduct assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of your teen’s needs and goals. From there, we’ll work collaboratively to develop a treatment plan tailored to their unique strengths and challenges.
